2012 Festival is Here!!

The 75th Semana Nautica Summer Sports Festival is under way, with over 20 events being held in Santa Barbara over the next 10 days.

FESTIVAL WRAP-UP: Thank you for another incredible year of Semana Nautica!!! Our 75th festival was certainly a blast. Thanks to all of you who participated in any of the events or those who supported our efforts as official festival sponsors. We look forward to seeing you all back in 2013…

MONDAY UPDATE: Evan Morrison became a two-time champion at the 2012 festival by winning the 6-Mile Ocean Swim on Sunday, a week after championing the 3-Mile Ocean Swim. The festival came to a close on Monday with the DMI 10-Mile Time Trial bike race.

SUNDAY UPDATE: Konrad Antoniuk and Nicole Antoniuk won titles at Saturday’s Mullen & Henzell 1-Mile Ocean Swim. [RESULTS]. Cal Poly’s Andre Dome won the men’s title at the 76th Santa Barbara Tennis Open on Saturday at the Tennis Club of Santa Barbara.

FRIDAY UPDATE: The Santa Barbara Tennis Open has its Men’s Open semifinals today at the Tennis Club of Santa Barbara. The Age-Group Swim Meet at Los Baños Pool gets started.

THURSDAY UPDATE: Sergey Sushchikh and Mandy Grantz won Wednesday’s Semana Nautica 15k on the 4th of July. Reef & Run ran its first Biathlon on Thursday along with its usual ocean swims. The Santa Barbara Foresters dropped their 4th of July baseball game 8-0 at UCSB’s Caesar Uyesaka Stadium.

SUNDAY (7/1) UPDATE: Check out our Facebook page for photos posted from the last two days of events. Today, Will Montgomery and Jeremy Casebeer won their first CBVA Men’s Santa Barbara Open at East Beach. The draws at the Santa Barbara Tennis Open were whittled down further to Championship matches scheduled for next Saturday. Ed Smith and Becky Glusack won the 5-Mile Biathlon.

SATURDAY (6/30) UPDATE: Evan Morrison and Courtney Weigand win the 3-mile ocean swim on Saturday; UCSB Dream Team wins Ocean Water Polo Tournament.
