Brill, McAvoy, Seider top Semana Nautica’s Ocean Swimming Point Series
Arjun McAvoy, Kyle Brill, Melina Seider
The results are in, and three swimmers earned the title “Ocean Swimmer of the Year” at the 2026 Semana Nautica Summer Sports Festival.
Melina Seider, Kyle Brill, and Arjun McAvoy each excelled in multiple competitions to end up at the top of the point standings.
Seider won both the 2-Mile and 3-Mile races while also adding a 2nd-place result in the Reef and Run 1-Mile swim.
Brill and McAvoy each totaled 9 points in the point series to share the men’s title.
The Ocean Swimmer of the Year titles are awarded based off a points system. Competitors must swim in at least three races during the Semana Nautica festival, including either the 3-mile or 6-mile ocean swim.
Only 12 swimmers qualified to be included in the points standings, nine women and three men.
Each of the three Ocean Swimmers of the Year will receive a free entry to this year’s Reef & Run Boat Swim, and will be honored at an awards ceremony in August.
