Running on the 4th of July is a Santa Barbara tradition and the SB Running Association welcomes all to this year’s Semana Nautica 5K Trail Run at Elings Park.
All proceeds benefit youth running programs and Elings Park trail maintenance.
The 5K race begins at 8:30 a.m., and a juniors race with a shorter distance of 1.25 miles starts at 8:45.
Runners must arrive early to check in and pick up their bibs between 7 a.m. and 7:50 a.m.
The 5K course includes some steep climbs but runners will be rewarded with beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and the city of Santa Barbara (fog permitting). Much of the course is on dirt single track.
Santa Barbara Running Association members receive a registration discount.
The 4th of July 5k is a local grand prix (and jgp) race.
