Jeff Farrell Award goes to Brittney Gamble

The Semana Nautica Association is happy to name Brittney Gamble as the 2024 recipient of the Jeff Farrell Award.

The Jeff Farrell Award recognizes exceptional organizations or individuals who, through leadership and character, have made significant contributions that support and embody the spirit of Semana Nautica.

Gamble has been making an impact at East Beach for years through the Santa Barbara City Junior Lifeguards program. From junior lifeguard to instructor to program director, Gamble has exemplified excellence within the ranks of our city’s lifeguards.

At this year’s Semana Nautica, Gamble competed in multiple events, winning the women’s Ironguard Individual competition, the women’s 1-Mile Paddleboard Race, and the women’s Paddleboard Sprint.

Outside of competition, Gamble served as a lifeguard and volunteer coordinator for the Junior Lifeguards during the festival. To round out her talents, Gamble was the drummer for band TNT at the Semana Nautica Reef & Run on July 11.

Jeff Farrell, an Olympic Gold-Medalist swimmer and longtime Semana Nautica supporter, presented Gamble with a signed copy of his book at an awards ceremony on August 8.

All in all, Gamble has delivered an all-around performance worthy of the Jeff Farrell Award.
