Jeff Farrell Award goes to Cohen Family

The Cohen Family has been chosen by the Semana Nautica Association as the 2025 Jeff Farrell Award recipients.

The Jeff Farrell Award recognizes exceptional organizations or individuals who, through leadership and character, have made significant contributions that support and embody the spirit of Semana Nautica. The honor is named after Jeff Farrell, a local Santa Barbara swimmer who won two gold medals at the 1960 Rome Olympics and helped lead the Semana Nautica Association for decades.

The Cohen Family is just that, exemplifying the spirit of Semana Nautica with their commitment to consistently bringing an infectious positive attitude to every event, and providing genuine support for all other competitors.

The Cohen Family is made up of Eric, Andria, and daughter Aya. The three were very active during this year’s festival, especially nine-year-old Aya, who competed in Stud Ironman, Ironguard Individual, Paddle Sprints, 500-Meter Ocean Swim, and both weeks of Reef and Run.

The Cohen Family, along with Semana Nautica’s other 2025 award honorees, will be recognized in person at Reef & Run on August 12.
