Event Description

Surf teams will be limited to two divisions: TWO-Person and THREE-person Relay Teams. Teams may be multi or single gender.

Course

Saturday will be a 1000m swim.

Start

The members of each team shall be marshaled behind each other facing the water’s edge in their drawn positions.

Points

Points are allotted as follows: one for first, two for second, three for third, four for fourth, etc. The team scoring the least number of points will be declared the winner. Should two or more teams be allotted equal points, the team whose full complement of members first completes the course shall be awarded the higher placing. All competitors who finish shall be recorded as they are placed, and the points will be calculated. If any teams are disqualified, places shall be reallocated, and points then calculated.

Note

Competitors may touch buoys and buoy ropes but are not permitted to use buoy ropes to drag themselves along the course. Competitors must finish on their feet in an upright position. The finish is judged on the competitor’s chest crossing the finish line. Judges shall be placed to observe the conduct of the event as well as determine competitors’ place at the finish line.

Disqualification

The following behavior shall result in disqualification: Failure to complete the course as defined and described. Unsportsmanlike behavior as determined by the judges.
