POSTPONED - BEACH WATER POLO
Unfortunately event organizers have decided to postpone this year’s Beach Water Polo event at Stearns Wharf. The 4th of July holiday weekend interfered with scheduling and early registration numbers were not enough to go forward with the full event. Beach Water Polo plans on returning in 2027, so keep an eye open for an announcement next year and register early!
Semana Nautica’s Beach Water Polo Tournament is back in 2026, set for Sunday, July 5th.
This special event showcases local water polo players at one of Santa Barbara’s most famous landmarks.

Set in the ocean directly in front of the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History Sea Center on Stearns Wharf, the tournament brings together competitive ocean athletics and the iconic Santa Barbara waterfront atmosphere. Players compete in fast-paced water polo matches in a designated playing area just off the beach and wharf, surrounded by the scenic coastline, summer crowds, and energy of the historic festival.
As part of the Semana Nautica Summer Sports Festival, the event showcases nonstop action, rotating games, teamwork, and open-water competition in the Pacific Ocean. Athletes battle through surf and ocean conditions while spectators watch from the sand, shoreline, and Stearns Wharf. Designed for both competitive and recreational players, the tournament combines the excitement of water polo with the unique experience of playing directly off Santa Barbara’s famous waterfront.
Beach Water Polo at the Sea Center captures the spirit of Santa Barbara summer — community, competition, ocean culture, and unforgettable action on the water.
